Key takeaways:
- Tranzmit Payment Services has integrated Yellow Card’s Payments API, starting with its US-to-Nigeria corridor
- The integration converts between dollar-pegged stablecoins and local currency for faster, more predictable settlement
- Yellow Card supports more than 50 currencies and counts Visa and Western Union among its customers
Yellow Card, a licensed stablecoin infrastructure provider for emerging markets, has partnered with Tranzmit Payment Services, a subsidiary of Tranzmit Corporation, giving the company a direct settlement path abroad through its US-to-Nigeria corridor, one of its largest and fastest-growing routes.
Tranzmit disclosed the integration in a statement, describing decades of experience building infrastructure to help people communicate and move money across borders. The company said delivering fast, reliable payments in emerging markets has historically meant navigating legacy banking channels that add cost, delay and uncertainty to every transaction.
By integrating Yellow Card’s Payments API, Tranzmit gains a direct, stablecoin-powered route into local markets, converting between U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoins and local currency to help payments arrive faster, at better rates and with greater predictability than traditional settlement methods.
Yellow Card CEO and co-founder Chris Maurice said Tranzmit’s track record in cross-border money movement made the partnership a natural fit.
“Tranzmit has been moving money and connecting people across borders for decades, and that kind of track record speaks for itself,” Maurice said. “What this integration does is give Tranzmit’s operations in emerging markets a significant upgrade, replacing the friction and unpredictability of legacy settlement with something that is fast, transparent, and purpose-built for the markets their customers care about most.”
Why Tranzmit says the upgrade matters
Tranzmit CEO Daniel Asturias said the integration supports the company’s broader push to simplify cross-border transfers.
“At Tranzmit, we’re transforming the way money moves, making transfers simpler, smarter, and more seamless through innovative fintech technology. We empower businesses and people to move money with confidence, speed, and ease,” Asturias said.
Tranzmit Corporation is a global provider of communications and financial services, spanning international calling products, money transfer services and payment solutions.
Through its payments division, the company delivers cross-border financial services to individuals and businesses across some of the world’s most dynamic and underserved markets, making the shift away from correspondent banking rails a meaningful operational change for its US-Nigeria transfer volumes specifically.
Yellow Card’s push into global payment infrastructure
The integration marks another step in Yellow Card’s effort to become the infrastructure of choice for global payment companies operating in emerging markets, as demand grows for cross-border payment rails that do not rely on correspondent banking.
Yellow Card supports more than 50 currencies and counts Visa and Western Union among its customers, combining global reach with deep coverage across emerging markets.
The partnership adds to a string of recent moves positioning Yellow Card as a settlement layer for larger payment companies looking to reach African markets without building local infrastructure themselves, a strategy that mirrors similar stablecoin infrastructure partnerships forming across the industry as companies seek faster alternatives to traditional cross-border banking rails.
